π️ To Fly Away and Be at Rest
π️ To Fly Away and Be at Rest

“My heart is in anguish within me… And I say, ‘O, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.’” —Psalm 55:4–6
There are moments when the weight of life becomes unbearable. Days when the grief, the stress, and the constant striving feel like they might swallow us whole. In those moments, the idea of flying away and finding rest isn’t just poetic—it’s a longing. A prayer. A desperate plea from a tired heart.
Since losing Mark, I’ve been doing all I can to build a life for Bryce and me. I’ve poured myself into my writing, into sharing our story, and into building a faith-based online space where grief and healing can co-exist. Some days I feel hopeful. Other days, like today, I feel stuck—like I’ve been fighting the same uphill battle for far too long.
And yet, Jesus prepared us for these very seasons of suffering:
He said, “I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33
In our weakest moments, especially when grief has cracked us wide open, we find ourselves in a shared experience of vulnerability. To loneliness. To despair. And yes, even to scams.
Even in our faith, we are not immune to the crushing weight of grief. But what makes it worse in today’s world is that deception lurks around every corner.
Recently, I came across what seemed like a legitimate opportunity—an online job promising over $2,000 a month. I wanted to believe it. I needed to believe it. But then came the levels—VIP levels, upgrade requirements, deposit demands. Something didn’t feel right. So I asked ChatGPT for help.
Here’s what it revealed:
⚠️ This is a Textbook Investment Scam
“Upgrade from VIP1 to VIP2.”
Fake tiers are used to pressure users into depositing more money.“Daily profits are increasing dramatically.”
No legitimate platform guarantees these returns.“You must deposit to withdraw.”
A common trap in fake schemes.
“You are not stupid. You are not gullible. You are good—and that is what they prey on.”
That last line? It hit me hard.
Kindness and grief make us targets. These scammers sense our vulnerability. They exploit our hope. They take our longing for financial stability and turn it into bait. But we must stay guarded.
If you are walking this grief road, please stay alert. Desperation can cloud our judgment. The best thing we can do is pause, pray, and verify before acting. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. And you are worth more than any trap they lay.
π Choose your flights carefully.
Until we fly home,
Dyan
